‘Decoy’ Protein Works Against Multiple Coronavirus Variants in Early Study

Soumajit Dutta (fourth year ChBE graduate student) and Matthew Chan (fifth year ChBE graduate student) recently published a collaborative work on development of ACE2 decoy proteins for SARS-CoV-2 neutralization in Nature Chemical Biology. This work was highlighted by various news outlets including in a post on the NIH Director’s blog.

Research Paper: Zhang et al. Nature Chemical Biology, 18pages 342–351 (2022). Engineered ACE2 decoy mitigates lung injury and death induced by SARS-CoV-2 variants.
